Bhanu Deka is an internationally reputed dance artist, choreographer and dance teacher with wide experience of dance performances across the continents.
She has successfully mapped the cultural geography of Indian classical
dance "Sattriya" nationally and globally. She is an approved and empaneled solo dancer of Satriya Dance of Doordarshan. She is also an
Established Choreographer and Dance Director of TV serials & telefilms.
As the Director of Youth Club Sangeet Mahavidyalaya(Dance Section),
Mangaldai, she and her group has performed many places in India.
Known as a reputed Bihu Dancer, she has performed Bihu Dance in
Russia,Germany,Bhutan and many places in India.
She has the reputation of a Costume Designer too. All the costumes, used
in her performances, are designed by her.
She started her career as a Satriya Dancer under the guidance of Sjt
Sailen Saikia and
Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Late Pradip Chaliha.
Now a days under the guidance of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee
Nrityacharya Padmashree Sjt Jatin Goswami, she is trying to explore
the new dimensions of Satriya Dance. Sjt Murari Mohan Sarma arranges
music in all her performances.
